The troubles of opening trails Dec 2008
Thursday December 19, 2008 on B105 near Tea Lake. This trail is normally one of our driest trails.
The questions of the week: " WHY AREN'T THE TRAILS OPEN? , HOW COME YOU DON'T HAVE THE GROOMER OUT YET? Please, we are trying our best but it is not fun. There is no frost at all in the ground and the 36 hours of rain last week made the bush really, really wet. The Skandics are packing the trail as best as we can for now until a real cold spell hits to freeze up those wet sections. The heart aches and cost to repair the equipment after they sink in the mud is not really worth it. The other problem is the large amount of trees that have fallen across the trails because of the heavy wet snowfall and then the high winds a couple of days ago. This is just a message to say that we are trying our best to get the trails open.
