Bred and owned by Frank Barkey & Family of Blackstock Ontario, a three time Master breeder herd, Aloe traces back to Altona Lea Starlite Harriet (Ex-9*) a prominent brood cow in the Altona Lea herd.

Holstein JournalDonna and Frank Barkey of Altona Lea Farms, Blackstock, Ontario are joined in their gardens with three Excellent maternal sisters who complete five generations of homebred, Canadian Excellents. From left: Altona Lea Gem (EX), a 6 year old show winning "lee" with 11,307 kg milk, 451 kg fat, 368 kg protein (211-225-212); Altona Lea Prelude Alecia (Ex-2E-CAN), a 9-year-old "Prelude" with 12,219 kg milk, 504 kg fat, 44 kg protein (216-237-223); and Altona Lea Storm Lovely (EX), a 7-year-old "Storm" with 13,668 kg milk, 548 kg fat, 444 kg protein (221-233-223). These three cows currently have 16 daughters in total to date and each have a daughter classified Very Good so far. Members of Altona Lea's famed Harriet family, the trio are daughters of Altona Lea Lindy Gorgeous (Ex-2*), a "Lindy" who is backed by Altona Lea Sheik Leanne (Ex-10*), Altona Lea Amos Roberta (Ex-3*) and then the "Starlite" brood matron, Altona Lea Starlite Harriett (Ex-9*). A two-time Master Breeder herd, Altona Lea Farms is operated by Frank and Donna Barkey and their son Glenn and his wife Karen and their family and their daughter Carolyn and her husband Frazer Puterbough.
